Sir Bruce Forsyth, Alexei Sayle and Jasper Carrott support our “Die Laughing” Competition
Our nationwide “Die Laughing” Silver Stand Up Of The Year Competition in partnership with Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival (for new or established comedians aged 55+) has already been backed by the leading mature comedian Arthur Smith (see previous news story). Now other heavyweight comedians and entertainers have added their support for our “Die Laughing” Competition:
“You’re never too old to be funny … sometimes it even helps!” Sir Bruce Forsyth
“I am delighted to lend my support to the Silver Comedy competition. Anything that provides an antidote to all the young upstarts taking over the comedy scene has to be a good thing.” Alexei Sayle
“Having reached 55 you finally realise that the word ‘Poo’ is not the basis for all stand-up routines.” Jasper Carrott
Arthur Smith praises our Silver Stand Up Of The Year Competition
Our nationwide “Die Laughing” Silver Stand Up Of The Year Competition supported by Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival has been praised by the well known and “very mature” comedian Arthur Smith: “Untroubled by the need to visit night clubs or ‘be cool’ , the old survey the world at a longer perspective and are funnier than the screaming youngsters. Who is funnier – Barry Cryer or Jedward? The old repeat themselves, the young have nothing to say – the boredom is mutual. The old repeat themselves, the young have nothing to say – the boredom is mutual,” says Arthur Smith.
